    PROF. DR. FREUD
    WIEN IX., BERGGASSE 19.

    Dec 17th 1921

    Dear Mrs Blumgart

    I received your letter today
    and talked it over with
    your brother-in-law Dr Leonard
    B.  After hearing his inform-
ation I propose to you the
    following arrangements:

    a) You could not come before
Oct 1st as you will not get
    your degree before June and
    I am breaking off work
    in July.  The number of
    patients or pupils to be
    accepted next season will
    be a very limited one.

b). You are requested to send
    me an account of what
    your personal problems
    and conflicts are, which
I will treat as a purely
    private communication even
    as regards Dr. Blumgart.
It will enable me to form
    an independent judgment
    whethher I shall consider you

  • S.

as a pupil and future practicer
of analysis or rather as a
    patient, who claims the analyst's
    help in his troubles.

c). In the latter case your fees
will be raised to # 15.  The
    charge for a non-medical
    patient is # 20.

    Medical work here is well
    compatible with being analyzed.
But if you are in for the
    study of analysis you should
    devote all your leisure which
    in Vienna to analysis itself.

    Yours sincerely
    Freud
