Dear Friends:

I am writing this in the country, where I shall be for the next fort-
night. Letters, however, will be forwarded here. I have had a rough
 time with several complications, including perforative otitis on both 
sides. But I am now much better and able to do a little work.

There is no special news from London. The great depression in trade 
since last winter has had its effect on practice. Whereas last autumn 
I could keep four colleagues busy with my overflow, now in the past 
couple of months I have had a couple of hours free myself. This has at 
least had the Nebengewinn that I have been able to finish re-writing 
my Hamlet, on which I have been occupied for a couple of years, and I 
have sent it to Hiller. Will Rank please consider the question of 
whether he would like to buy the rights from Deuticke and publish a 
new edition. In English it will form the first chapter of a volume I 
am preparing of Essays in Applied Psa (salt, Madonna, etc).

Please excuse the egocentric letter of an invalid. I will make up 
for it later.
