Answer to Berl. 6 & Buda. 6 (Wien 6 not yet arrived).2

Dear Friends:

Like Abraham, I have also been considering the technique of our dates. It takes me 20 days to get an answer from Budapest and 14 from Vienna, which often concerns urgent matters. I make a different suggestion, na- mely, that we all write on the same day, Then we would be sure to be able to get an answer to the penultimate letter, which is often not pos- sible. So far as the actual day is concerned, any of the first three of the week would suit me, best Monday or Tuesday. Please for opinions on this. It would have the further advantage that we would usually have se- veral days after receiving a letter before we need answer it, so that it would not be necessary for Vienna to make more copies for Berlin.

Our discussion on Battle Dreams last week3 was very fruitful and an ac- count of it will appear in the Assoc. Reports. The chief point that issued was that dreams consisting only of pure repetitions of experiences, un- mixed and unaltered, are extremely rare, and some observers doubted their occurrence.

Budapest.

I have reviewed Tridon‘s book for4 the J. It is not worth your reading, being only bad journalism.

Stanley Hall5 & Morton Prince6 have sent best wishes for the J. The for-

mer inquired kindly about Professor and said he had written to him more than once during the war, without answer.7

Vienna.

Enclosed a business letter for Rank. A copy of the J. should be sent to the Psa Libraries of Vienna, Berlin, Budapest, as the price is too high otherwise; perhaps this is already been done. Last week it was decided to send eight copies of the British Journal of Psychology to universities in Austria and Hungary.

I wrote last week a fateful letter to Brill8, of which I sent a copy to Pro-

fessor for his perusal. In a month we should know about our future in America, for very much depends on Brill. Jelliffe and White have written to me several times lately, but they mix up Psa hopelessly with Adler & Jung.

We had five new doctors at our meeting last week who are working at Psa and want to join our society.

Today a patient called with a letter in Norwegian telling him to consult me. It had printed on it: Dr Strömme.9 Psykanalyse. Does anyone know him (in Christiana)?

Flügel and I have written to Flournoy expressing in the name of the As- sociation our condolences at the death of his father.
