The chief recent event has been of course Ferenczi’s visit, which concludes 
tomorrow. During the ten days he has addressed two meetings and has spent
every remaining minute in hospitable functions. He has made an extremely
favourable impression everywhere and it had given us all great pleasure to have
him amongst us in England. He is going to Baden-Baden until the Congress.

The Committee appointed by the British Medical Association „to investigate 
Psycho-Analysis“ is composed of about twenty specialists from various fields,
including ophthalmology, together with a number of psychotherapeutists 
(no Jungians). They invited me to write an essay expounding psa and to 
appear personally to give evidence. I replied by inquiring into the purpose
of the Committee and protesting against the word „Psycho-Analysis“ being used
in any other sense than the Freudian one. They agreed entirely on the latter
point, which is a distinct advantage, and said they wished to investigate the
relationship between psa and other modes of psychotherapy. I thereupon
applied for representation of our school on the Committee (so that if necessary
one would have the opportunity of issuing a corrective minority report).
The answer to this I shall receive after their next meeting at the end of June.

Sachs’ film is after all to appear in England in the middle of July
and naturally will not increase his popularity among our members.
 

The April number of the „Journal“ appeared at length last week. It
is rare for it to appear before the „Zeitschrift“, especially as most of it
had to be translated. I am afraid the July number will also be late,
though I shall make every effort to get it out before the Congress.
