    Dear Friends,

The chief news here is that the Clinic is at full work and everything proceeds
smoothly. The staff is made up of a Director, myself, Assistant Director,
Dr. Edward Glover, nine Physicians, Drs. Bryan, Cole, Eder, Herford, Inman, Payne,
Rickman, Riggall, and Stoddart, with five Clinical Assistants. In time we intend
to open, first, a “Pedagogic Department”, and later to admit lay analysts for
    adult work if circumstances permit.

“Das Ich und das Es” and Ferenczi’s second collected volume are both in the
Press and should appear this autumn. The large double number of the “Journal”
issued in celebration of Professor’s birthday has at last appeared, and I hope
    will give him some pleasure.

The first scientific meeting of the Society takes place next week. At the
annual business one held last week Edward Glover was elected in place of his
brother on the Lehrkommission, and Mrs. Rivière and Rickman as Members of the
Council in place of James Glover and Flügel.

Frau Klein is spending ten months in England doing analytic work. Lectures
will probably be arranged for her later. It will interest you to know that I
am showing my faith in Frühanalyse by having my two children analysed by her.
Even in the first month I have found the best reasons for being glad of the decision.

After correspondence with Radó it has been decided that I write a simple
review of „Zur Frage der Laienanalyse“ for the January numbers of the “Zeitschrift”.

and „Journal“, and that readers be invited to contribute to general discussion
that will be published in the April numbers of both journals. That should
clear the air for anything that may take place at the Congress.

    Yours always,
    Ernest Jones.
