    NEW INTRODUCTORY
    LECTURES ON
    PSYCHO-ANALYSIS

    SIGMUND FREUD

A new book by Freud is always of importance, but the present one
is even more than usually interesting. It is a continuation of the
Introductory Lectures to Psycho-Analysis, one of his best-known works
and a landmark in the development of psycho-analysis. It brings
the original work up to date, and contains a great deal of hitherto
unpublished material. It includes chapters on “The Analysis of
the Psychic Personality” and the “Psychology of Women,” the
latter being Freud’s own contribution to one of the most contro-
versial subjects in modern psycho-analytic theory. It also contains
Freud’s views on religion, scientific theory, and the occult. It is
addressed as much to the layman as to the specialist, and, apart
from the original Introductory Lectures, can be used as an indepen-
    dent introduction to the subject.
