DELUSION AND
DREAM

By Prof. SIGMUND FREUD

Translated by HELEN M. DOWNEY, M.A.

Introduction by Dr. G. STANLEY HALL
President of Clark University

Professor Freud received the
inspiration for this book in
Gradiva, a novel by Wilhelm
Jensen. He found the dreams
and delusions of the bero of
Gradiva depicted in so realistic
a manner that he has used this
charming tale in demonstrating
the application of the principles
of psychoanalyvie which he has
evolved. The novel is translated
here in full and is delightful
reading in itself. One need not
be a follower of psychoanalysis
to enjoy it.
