PROF. DR. FREUD    WIEN, IX., BERGGASSE 19.

    May 12th 1921.

    Dear Dr Blumgart

    I received your first letter
    on April 9th and sent
a reply the next day. I
    am sorry it did not
    reach you. Perhaps it did
    arrive after you had
    written a second time
    April 21st.

I did not cable because it
is impossible for me to take
    you before Oct 1st.

    I know that you have
been in the line of Jung
but I am sure by what
    I heard about you from
Dr Frink, that you are a serious
man and I will be glad
    to assist you in your
    self‑analysis and give you
    as much information
as can be joined to that.

    My conditions are: not
    less than 3 months (the
    minimum of time necessary)
and a fee of # 10 for the
    hour, to be paid in
    effective notes, not checks.

    It would be a great
relief for me, if you talked
    German; if not, you should
    not criticise my bad
    English.

As I may take only a very
    restricted number of pupils
    or patients next spr fall
(perhaps 6), I am sure you
    will find no free hour
    if you come after the
    date of Oct 1st.

    With kind regards
    yours sincerely
    Freud
