A letter that arrived simultaneously from someone at St. John's College, Cambridge, whose name I read as "Jeffreys" connects me with the person who proposed me.  So now I know that your influence is behind it, and I thank you warmly.  But I should also like to know who this J. is.  Would you like to write me a couple of lines about this?
