Dear Professor:
«IP4,0»I have been hoping to hear from you, and trust you are well. I think of you when reading the accounts of tobacco shortage, and hope you have a good stock of cigars laid in.
Since my last letter, written about Christmas time, I have the news to give that I got married last week, and have just returned from a week's honeymoon in West Cornwall ‑‑ the Celtic end of England. She is Welsh, young (23), very pretty, intelligent, and musical.«FN1.××Morfydd Owen (1896‑1918), Welsh musician, was actually twenty‑one years of age.» After taking her degree in music she studied for four years at the Academy and sang at her first and last public concert the week I captured her; she has also composed some promising works. I feel it is a normal choice and we are exceedingly happy. You shall see her as soon as the war is over, which should be this year according to all opinion here (except my own).
I have heard a few times from Loe, who seems to be going on well with her morphia cure; the chances are as favourable as they ever can be externally (happiness and a peaceful, comfortable house).
The Senate of University College, London, has just invited me to give a course of public lectures there on Psychology and War ‑‑ which will of course follow the lines of your "Zeitgemässiges".«FN1.××Freud (1915b).» My Ferenczi translation has appeared,«FN1.××Jones (1916b).» and I will try to send you a copy. I heard recently from him, also in December from Rank and Sachs. I hope Rank is going on well; what do you think about him?
«IP0,0» With my warmest regards Yours as always Ernest Jones.
