Dear Professor,

«IP4,0»I am pleased to be able to send you by this post an advance copy, though unbound, of Vol. 2 of your "«MDUL»Collected Papers«MDNM»", which was as you know printed in Berlin.  I expect to finish this month the revision of Vol. 2, the more advanced Clinical Papers and Papers on Technique.  I hope also to finish by next month the "«MDUL»Krankengeschichten«MDNM»".  The "Wolf‑Man" I am finishing this week and then there is only the Schreber case, if I can get it from Strachey.  Until this week I had not been able to get anything from him for six months.  There remains only Vol. 4, Metapsychology and Angewandte, half of which is already translated; I intend to finish the revision of this before Christmas.  That will then make seven books of yours, translations of which I shall have revised word by word in the last three years.  The next problem will be how to get hold of the older books, "«MDUL»Traumdeutung«MDNM»", etc. and arrange for fresh translations if possible.  That is a difficult problem, which must await its turn for solution.

I saw Rickman for a couple of minutes yesterday and was glad to hear that you were well.  He did not know when you were leaving Vienna or what your address would be.

With kindest regards,  Yours always,  Ernest Jones
