Dear Professor,
«IP4,0»It was kind of you to send me those friendly remarks about my dear wife. The visit to Austria has certainly benefitted her, and given her a little more courage in facing life. She specially enjoyed her visit to you all at the Semmering.
I was glad to hear that you were not resigned to your discomfort and are determined to make further efforts to diminish it. Surely it is to be presumed that Pickler [Pichler] would be glad if you can be helped further, even if not by him. Why shouldn't he be a decent person?
The publishers were very slow in issuing «MDUL»The Future of an Illusion«MDNM», but you will have seen it before this letter and I hope it will please you. I think it is the best translated of any of your works. I do not ask you, but if you feel inclined to send a line to the translator it would be a great event in his life. I will of course let you know of any interesting reviews of the book.
We are beginning to plan arrangements for the next Congress, which will be at Oxford. Perhaps the experience of the Berlin journey, and some good results from it, may yet decide you to favour England.
I am only taking a short holiday, three weeks in Brittainy and a couple of days in the country.
With all good wishes to you Yours affectionately Ernest Jones
