Dear Professor,
I was very happy to read your kind words about the Abraham Obituary and thank you very warmly for them. You can imagine that much of it was written for the small circle of friends nearest to him. I was also very glad to hear that you were supervising the translation, particularly of the first and last parts. The middle part, although a labour for Reik, is straightforward, but with the other part the question of form and style is naturally more important and therefore I was especially pleased to know that that will be rendered at its best.
I had four days' holiday at Easter and feel refreshed for further work. The next piece will be my paper on Psycho‑Analysis and Religion for the International Congress of Psychology.«FN1.××Jones (1926b).» They asked me to let them have it in February, so that it is distinctly overdue. As the Congress is at the end of August, however, it should be in good time.
I was glad to hear recently from Eitingon that you«FN1.××"He" is pencilled in to replace "you."» have benefitted from the visit to the Riviera, so that you should be able now to endure better the birthday «MDUL»Strapazen«MDNM» [stress and strain].
Yours always affectionately, [Ernest Jones]«FN1.××Not Jones's signature, but signed "Ernest Jones" and initialed by secretary.»
