Dear Professor,

I hope that Anna is doing the right thing by going home now, for I doubt whether you would not rather know her safe in England.  However, she has struggled hard to make the best decision, and has been very brave in all this crisis.

She will give you the English news, so I need write nothing of it.  Personally I feel that my duty is to stay by my post, and go on practising, rather than to join the war service.  That has also the advantage that I shall be able to help our Vienna friends (Rank, etc.) financially, which may be rendered necessary by the war; I have tried to send money now, but there are no Austrian notes to be obtained in London.

I am terribly anxious to hear news of you and our friends, and hope you will try to communicate via Bjerre, Van Emden, Pfister, or Assagioli.  I shall go to Holland soon to see Van Emden and find out what he knows.

With best love  from yours always devotedly  Jones.
