Dear Professor:
The Brill mystery is at last solved and his silence of six months accounted for. He has had a bad attack of his old trouble, and is hurt that you and I do not love him enough. I have done my best to calm him down, but these delays are very serious in many respects. He still does not say if he will join in the symposium on psychiatry, so I cannot yet invite Rorschach. I have written to Rank news of the money in Munich and also a contract I am making with Allen & Unwin, so will not repeat this.
I hope that next year's Congress will be in Berlin, and that you will not accept the invitation they have sent to us to lecture there this year. It sounds too much like a staring at lions to please our style, and the Congress next year should give them the advertisement they want. I have written thanking them, but accepting only conditionally.
Are your holiday plans beginning to mature? We hope greatly that you and Anna will be able to come to England for a week or two after the Congress. Should we not arrange about the date of the previous committee meeting? Would it be advantageous to hold this on the German side of the frontier?
Yours always affectionately Ernest Jones
