Dear Professor,

«IP4,0»I was thrilled to hear about your new booklet and of course wish to enter at once a claim for the translation.

What you say about Dr. Wilson surprised me and gives a very puzzling problem.  I saw her recently (before getting your letter) and had a definite impression of an honest person.  She is a woman of sixty‑eight and quite an interesting personality.  She said she had been analysed by you for four or five months in l92O and had worked with Anna, I think in January or February of this year.  It is true that Americans sometimes regard two or three conversations as constituting "working with", or even "conducting a control analysis", but I was puzzled that Anna could not remember meeting her at all.

I did not gather from Simmel and Spitz at the Congress that the situation at Tegel was so hopeless or desperate as you evidently think, and I hope it may still be saved.

London is proving quite tolerable in August, but I am alone here and am looking forward to the return of my colleagues within the next week or two.  Dr. McCord is coming to London at the end of next week and I shall be pleased to see him.

With my kindest regards,  Yours always,  Ernest Jones
