Dear Professor,

«IP4,0»You asked me to let you know at once of the son's arrival.  It took place this afternoon in 1 1/2 hours.  He weighs K. 4.2O, is an unmistakably male child, lusty and hearty.  Typical «MDUL»Judenblut«MDNM» [Jewish blood], but with blond hair and blue eyes.  He seems to adapt himself rapidly to his changed life and behaved masterfully at his first meal.

My wife went through the ordeal splendidly, glowing with health and pride and feels very well.

The name will probably be Merfyn (pronounced Merrvin) Ioan (pronounced as German Johann without the h, and with the same meaning) Gower Jones.

Blumgart telephoned this evening.  I am to see him in a day or two.  Oberndorf is expected on March 6.

I have heard nothing as yet of Armstrong.

You were evidently more successful with G. M. Young than you told me, to judge by his firm public appearances in Vienna.  I may have a similar case to send you.  Does Mrs. Strachey's illness give you an unexpected vacancy?

With kindest greeting and warm thanks for your interest,

Yours always affectionately  Ernest Jones
