Dear Professor,

I enclose a little booklet which I think you will like if you have time to read it.  It attempts to place ψα in a general setting of science.

Some time ago I sent you a reprint of my Congress paper.  As it contains two new conclusions, one general and one specific, I am naturally eager to know how they impress you.[1]

The translation of the 'Zukunft' is almost finished and is excellent.  Robson Scott is a welcome addition to our limited band of translators.  It might interest you to know that he is a cousin of Andrew Lang and of 'Just So' Atkinson.[2]

I hope the world is going well with you.  Do you know of the efforts being made to secure you the Nobel Prize?

Yours always affectionately  Ernest Jones

Robson‑Scott 1928.  Andrew Lang (1844‑1912), Scottish scholar, poet, and man of letters, with serious interests in psychical research; he dealt with the origins of totemism in Social Origins (London: Longmans, 1903) which was printed together with Atkinson (1903).  "Just So" echoes a comment of Marett on Freud's Totem and Taboo, see paragraph 2 of letter 269.
